Introduction

Who am I?

My name is Christy Abraham, also known as Chris, Christo, Christopher.... :)

I am a Finance major at Mays Business School, Texas A&M University, expecting to graduate this December, hopefully.
 Although my nationality is Indian, I was born and raised in Qatar. As some of you may not recognize this tiny country, it is a neighbour to Dubai (U.A.E), Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, etc. It has also been selected to host the 2022 Fifa World Cup, and it probably is one of the richest countries in the world due to per capita income. So, with a nationality that surrounds me with diverse cultures and habits, I lived growing up to blend in as a Qatari (although I still can't speak Arabic or drive a luxurious car). It was a fascinating mix of Indian and Arabian highlights that eventually made me an exotic human being, so as to speak!

So what do I do for fun?

Well, other than Finance I am a percussionist (both, Indian and Western) for the past 12 years or so. I used to play in a band back in high school and now FINANCE is more important!! Music is quite important to me and am quite passionate about hearing and making good music. I also enjoy cooking, photography, a lot of travelling, and playing/watching soccer. Some day I hope to travel all across the world and learn different aspects to people's lives. Why Real Estate?

Real Estate to me has always been fascinating, the idea of buying a property or land and selling it off after a period of time to make money - sounds brilliant! I always enjoyed watching programs related to real estate, buying a house and remodelling it, and eventually setting it up for sale at a higher price. Also, "architecturally" speaking, modern design and lines are of interest to me.

So I wish to do something with real estate at some point in my life, maybe not as a career! Knowledge about such a field is key, and that is what I expect to learn from this class.
